  • To resolve data related and process issues through root cause analysis.
  • To work closely with EIM teams including Profiling, Systematic and Manual remediation, Meta Data Management and Records Management teams to implement permanent fixes.
  • Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities Root cause analysis

  • Proactively works with teams to identify systems, process and data gaps and implements permanent fixes.
  • Works with Data Stewards on challenges in the product houses (e.g., delivery of statements to incorrect addresses) and implements permanent fixes.
  • Works closely with the Profiling team to help identify data trends to help with Root Cause Analysis.
  • Identifies events to be investigated and gather preliminary information.
  • Describes outcomes of a root cause analysis exercise and identifies contributing factors (e.g., origin of the root cause problem, contributing factors that led to identification of the underlying process and system issues (root causes) of the event). Measure :
  • Effective implementation of permanent fixes Root cause reporting
  • Provides detailed root cause analysis reporting for relevant stakeholders.
  • Identifies challenges and trends and highlights problem areas for line management attention.
  • Builds reporting trends which include amongst others, average time it takes to implement a permanent fix post Root Cause Analysis. Measures :
  • Quality of reporting Duplicate customer profiles
  • Drives removal of duplicate profiles and provides feedback in the duplicate profiles working group.
  • Works closely with the remediation team on duplicate profile issues and implements permanent fixes.
  • Acts as an adviser to the remediation team on what is possible on duplicate profiles and drives productivity and efficiencies.
  • Works closely with the duplicate profile development team and prioritises permanent fixes for issues identified based on business requirements.
  • Works closely with the branch network on duplicate profile issues and implements permanent fixes.
  • Understands deduplication business rules for both manual and systematic processes.
  • Actively participates in the duplicate profiles roadmap to understand the business value add and synergies.
  • Acts as an adviser to different product houses on the impact of creating duplicate profiles and recommends permanent fixes. Measures :
  • Reduction in duplicate customer profiles Stakeholder management
  • Ensures adequate involvement, alignment and senior support from key stakeholders.
  • Manages and aligns work or rework that needs to be done between requirements definition and design as well as any work between run and build functions.
  • Establishes and maintains good relationships across different stakeholders including Data Stewards.
  • Informs data requirements, in conjunction with design teams, based on interaction with stakeholders as well as alignment against the data governance framework.
  • Participates in design efforts, thereby ensuring consistency of content across PBB SA.
  • Communicates other business unit initiatives that are underway within the unit that may be potentially impacted, have an impact on, or deliver some of the business requirements and offer suggestions on how conflicting situations can be resolved.
  • Works closely with business resources / subject matter experts on deduplication processes and efficiencies.
  • Contributes to end-to-end deduplication process design. Measures :
  • Effective deduplication processes
  • Stakeholder feedback Prioritising and planning Identify user journeys which map out how a user will go through the system.
  • Create relevant user stories. Collaborate with cross-functional teams comprised of product management, User Experience (UX), technology, support, testing and other subject matter experts to gather and analyse functional needs and user story requirements.

    Groom user stories through business interviews, workshops or procedures, from senior root cause analysts and map user stories ensuring they come together as a cohesive whole.

    Provide the Product Owner with key information for prioritisation and estimation. Facilitate and participate in iteration meetings (product backlog grooming, planning meeting, daily stand up, review meeting and retrospective). Measures :

  • Clear user stories Testing Work with users to develop acceptance criteria or test cases for the system. Produce acceptance tests from acceptance criteria.
  • Provide regular feedback by testing the deliverables against a user story’s acceptance criteria. Provide regular feedback by validating that the product meets the business goals.

  • Testing plan Preferred Qualification and Experience Qualification First Degree IT and Computer Sciences First Degree Information Studies Experience 1- 2 years Experience in dealing with data management principles.
  • Experience in data system design. 1 - 2 years Practical experience in working in a variety of business areas within IT. Understanding and experience of the various disciplines within IT and how they relate to each other Knowledge / Technical Skills / Expertise 1- 2 years Experience in dealing with data management principles.
