Our automotive manufacturing client is looking for a Logistics Manager for their Pretoria plant.
Main Duties :
61623; Material Requisition Planning System : Responsible for the effective and efficient running of the company material requisition planning system.
Responsible for the monthly analysis of all customer releases and daily monitoring thereof. Supervising the ordering of all supplier raw materials local & imported as well as production non-stocked material & consumables.
Notifying the appropriate department manager or supervisor of all situations that do not conform to the requirements of the Materials System and ensure that corrective action is taken in such situations.
In cases where corrective action is not forthcoming, he reports the matter to the attention of the Plant Manager and or the General Manager
61623; Stock Control : Responsible to ensure correct material control at all plants via daily cycle counts and monthly stock takes.
Supervision of the daily job loading, job closers, as well as issues and stock transfer recording of material
61623; Customer Satisfaction : To ensure customer and company requirements are met by logistics department for annual customer audits of logistics areas within the company and annual submission to customer where required of MMOG.
Responsible for reporting of monthly logistics customer vision status to headquarters
61623; Human Resources within Logistics department : Responsible for achieving the company labour cost, the company head count, as well as the absenteeism percentage annually according to the approved budgeted / objective value and head count target supplied by headquarters for the company logistics department.
Further, Responsible for achieving a well-managed stable work force, adequately trained to perform their functions whilst adhering to all labour relations and investing in the growth of the company through further training of personnel which will benefit both the individual & the company in the long term.
61623; Project Launching : Responsible to ensure successful project launching together with supporting departments engineering and / or projects with specific focus on start of production and sample builds where raw material ordering must be correct and stocks must be supplied on time.
61623; Reporting : To ensure daily reporting of finished goods stock on hand values and implementation of targets as per demand, agreement of syspro stock on hand to daily stock reports and plant production report, effective communication to plant & production managers.
Responsible for completion of monthly logistics CGI
61623; Working Capital Reduction : Responsible to achieve stock value targets in % of sales.
61623; Obsolescence Control : Responsible to ensure correct ordering according to customer release and / or demand forecast so as to ensure correct raw material supply in line with end of production of customer projects thus avoiding obsolescence stock write off.
61623; Responsible for the set-up of all supply chain management and monitoring of service providers and supplier performance.
Responsible for the delivery of finished good parts to customers & JIT warehouses. This includes the organizing of transport & transport methods as well as direct liaison with customers and plant managers (any out of budget transport required such as express / airfreight deliveries required on raw material and finished good product requires the approval of the General Manager)
61623; Continuous Improvement - Responsible for the company SP, 5S, Kamishibai, Red Table & Black Table continuous improvement objectives as defined by headquarters are effectively and efficiently implemented and maintained on a weekly basis within the plant.
Any open points are monitored by means of action plan and closed as soon as possible.
61623; Customer Logistics Assessments : Responsible for the supervision of all local supplier vendor assessments & rating thereof in line with the assistance of the Quality Department
61623; Logistics Budget : Annually provide the logistics budget for the company detailing this per plant, including but not limited to inter branch transport costs, international freight costs of imported raw material, packaging costs and outbound customer logistics cost budget
61623; C1 / SMD Customer submissions : Whilst C1 / SMD submissions are outsourced, it is the responsibility of the logistics manager to sign off and ensure the reported data is correct and assist the service provider where necessary to complete these customer submissions on time.
61623; Bill of Material Improvement : Be an active team member in the reducing of raw material costs via cost saving proposals & BOM improvements as well as transport service provider cost analysis for imported material as well as transport to customers
61623; Production Planning : Ensuring a weekly production plan is in place and reporting daily actual versus planned production
