The IT Service Catalogue Analyst is an entry level position in the IT Master Data Catalogue Management job family.
The primary responsibility of the IT Service Catalogue Analyst is the ongoing management of the Internal IT Service Catalogue related to service catalogue development projects.
This individual will develop, implement and maintain all information, including stock keeping units (SKU’s) related to the key business systems which support the pipeline management, quoting, ordering, invoicing, reporting and service delivery of the Internal IT Function.
What you'll be doing
Service catalogue visibility
The IT Service Catalogue Analyst will ensure full visibility of catalogue information related to all Internal IT services offerings developed and managed in line with the relevant service portfolios.
They support the gathering of catalogue information in relationship with service catalogue development projects, as well as ongoing catalogue information management, afterwards.
This includes maintaining and / or governing the following intellectual Property (IP) :
Collateral related to services within the relevant portfolio of services
The service attributes in the services catalogue e.g. what version of which services are available and where
The service codes across the Tier 1 systems i.e. SAP, Direct, SalesForce.com (SFDC) as well as the relation with ITSM
These individuals provide full visibility of what is available, i.e. service offerings, services elements, services levels, technologies, vendors, limitations, relationship to supporting services, components and configuration items.
Document service definition
These individuals, in collaboration with internal stakeholders ensure that changes in the business requirements and services are reflected within the service catalogue.
They work closely with product managers and the relevant internal stakeholders to accurately describe the services that will need to be published based on the current and future requirements contained in the service portfolio.
Maintain intellectual property (collateral)
The IT Service Catalogue Analyst will align the service codes, service data and service attributes across the Tier 1 systems in accordance with the corporate policies.
They will maintain the intellectual property related to the service catalogue, ensuring that this is kept current, conforms to corporate standard, is stored on the relevant system and contains the relevant links to the related corporate repositories.
Service catalogue governance
They support the governance of the portfolio service codes to ensure that requests for new service codes are evaluated, the relevant impacts are understood, requests are timeously actioned and the new service codes comply with the portfolio and policy taxonomy and format.
They ensure that the portfolio of services is understood by relevant stakeholders and the processes to be followed to request service codes.
This individual will support adoption and usage of the service catalogue and provide operational support and guidance for the catalogue and associated codes.
They will provide support for incidents, queries and ticket management related to stock keeping items.
The IT Service Catalogue Analyst demonstrates good communication, client service and process management skills. They are proactive individuals who are able to work within a team environment, contributing to their success.
They demonstrate excellent attention to detail and demonstrate good self-management practices.
Required Work Experience :
At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within an ICT environment
Experience working with MS Office applications, including MS Visio, Access and SharePoint
Demonstrated experience with SKU’s and business systems such as SAP
