We’re investing heavily in Hydrogen fuel technology, and this strategy has created an exciting opportunity for an Liquid Hydrogen Equipment Engineer to join our Industrial Gases Central European Engineering support team.

This talented group of individuals are focused on providing Project Engineering, Product Engineering and Technical & Operational Support in designing, building and maintaining hydrogen fuel stations and associated distribution equipment.

Air Products is also actively building the facilities required to produce, compress, and deliver the hydrogen required by these fuel stations.

More about the Role

The European Hydrogen for Mobility (H2fM) engineering team provides project engineering, product engineering and technical support to the H2fM business area covering all areas from the Distribution Equipment right through to the Fuelling station themselves with both High Pressure and Liquid Hydrogen solutions.

Several EU countries and cities have already mandated the uptake of zero emission vehicles and more are following. Projects and support primarily involve larger scale captive fleet (bus, train) fuelling stations, but the intent is also to support fleet fuelling projects for cars, ships, etc Air Products seeks to be the market leader in providing end-to-end hydrogen refuelling solutions to fleet operators, providing hydrogen molecules together with complete refuelling infrastructure including operation and maintenance services.

The EU Hydrogen for Mobility Liquid Hydrogen Equipment Engineer will join the central EU IG organization responsible for providing a broad range of equipment and ongoing technical and operational support for the European H2fM business.

The candidate can be based in Belgium, France, Netherlands, Poland or Spain.

As the Liquid Hydrogen Equipment Engineer (Hydrogen for Mobility), you will :

  • Develop Liquid Hydrogen / Hydrogen for Mobility distribution and static support equipment (e.g. LHY trailers, storage tanks, vaporizers and pumps);
  • develop equipment specification, P&ID, design and product documentation in line with standards, codes and regulations.

  • Support Pan-European project management in sense of new build equipment.
  • Provide support with in-country start-up and commissioning.
  • Be involved in new and existing vendor selection and technical approval to support the growth plans.
  • Support the Global and European product line development for Hydrogen Refuelling Systems, HRS equipment.
  • Work with customers, equipment manufacturers OEMs and the business area to resolve technical and commercial issues throughout the proposal to installation cycle.
  • As the Liquid Hydrogen Equipment Engineer (Hydrogen for Mobility), you already are or have :

  • Bachelor and / or Master's engineering degree with significant relevant experience.
  • Experience in the following areas is highly preferred Hydrogen, Cryogenic Equipment.
  • Strong technical skills and an interest to use them is important, along with solid interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Cross-functional engineering experience with knowledge of project management and product engineering is preferred.
  • A self-starter with a results-oriented mind-set who will take ownership of multiple projects from inception to hand-over, working as part of a coordinated team.
  • A drive to completion employing a methodical and structured work approach.
  • Language skills - proficiency in English, additional European Languages would be an advantage.
