    Description

    Control Systems Engineer analyzes user requirements and the design of process and / or mechanical equipment to design automation systems that will cause the equipment to function in the desired mannerAnalyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to identify the system components and develop the design and functional specifications for the automation systemsThey are responsible for the interface between the hardware and software development for the automation systemEngineer works in cooperation with / and under the direction of the TCF VOME Facility Manager, aiming at the flawless execution of the projectTo be responsible for leading Contractors projects in terms of Controls section of all new installations VOME TCF Department has to deliver from Scope of Work creation to installation, buy-off & debuggingControls Engineer to Lead Projects Timely Execution with expected quality and in compliance with South Africa legal requirements, coordinate Projects, resources, equipment and information in line with project scope and definition.

    Lead the weekend and major plant shut-down works of contractors, conduct safety interventions & control execution of the work, prepare validation plans for all project steps, ensure prior job commencement, Manage The Change is issued and approved by plant, as well as the validation plansTo deliver project work as per customers requirements, timing and applicable standard, Engineer to : Prepare the Scope of Works for the TCF facility projects, raise in the system Requisition Requests, conduct suppliers technical evaluation, work with buyer to ensure Purchase Order raised on-timePrepare project planning, status review and reportingMentor others within team and internal customersControl system design and implementation of industrial manufacturing equipment for the automotive and industrial manufacturing industries.

    Work with conveyor engineers to develop robust, low cost, reliable solution satisfying customer requirements.

    Interpret mechanical sequence and controls drawing and writes ladder logic to customer specifications / control contractors work.

    Program using PLC Ladder Logic, including program testing / verification, control contractors work.Develop and simulate control software using low-fidelity plant models (PLC ladder logic) and physics-based (EASY5) plant models, manage contractors work.

    Simulate and validate system dynamics using low-fidelity plant models (PLC ladder logic) and physics-based (EASY5) plant models.

    Order software & hardware needed as per customer request and also designed ladder logic to customer specifications.Design and create electrical prints for automation equipment with AutoCad Electrical, lead contractors work in case project adjudicated to the 3rd party.

    Design / Control design of electrical panels utilizing AutoCAD Electrical / lead contractor work and check and buy-off these designs.

    Perform electrical and control / instrumentation system support of manufacturing facilities and labs (machine modifications, training, troubleshooting support), control Contractor work in case project assigned to 3rd party.

    Liaise with contractors and internal customers to clarify and define project requirements, scope and objectives.Prepare project proposals, timeframes, schedule and budgetsMonitor and track projects progress and handle any issues that arise but following BOB.
