Job Description

BCX seeks the expertise of a Network Voice Engineer to be responsible for ensuring that quality standards are met through evaluating, designing and preparing detailed specifications for larger complex Cisco Unified Communication systems that are in alignment with BCX's standards.

CONTEXT

  • Take cognisance of industry compliance requirements
  • The need to be aware of changes in clients operational and medium to long term objectives and ICT requirements
  • Understand the change in the BCX service model to a Services on demand model
  • The need to be aware of and adhere to SLA / OLA requirements
  • The need to have a conceptual understanding of the Service delivery model
  • The need to be aware of emerging and current technology
  • CUSTOMERS

  • Manager : Networks, BCX Competency Centres, End Users, Service Delivery Manager, Team Leader, Supervisor, Account Executives
  • Manage Problems

  • Support Users
  • Manage and Support Cisco UCS system, and possibly other voice technologies, on an advanced to intermediate skill level.
  • Manage, support and install Cisco UCS platform add-ons, and possibly other voice technologies, and enhancements as and when required.
  • EDUCATION

  • Grade 12, NQF Level 4, plus relevant diploma, (Cisco Certified Internetworking Voice Engineer)
  • Cisco Voice qualifications - CCVP / CCNP Voice qualified
  • Qualification in other Voice technologies’ will be advantageous
  • EXPERIENCE

  • 3 - 5 years in an IT environment of which at least four years in a Cisco Unified Communications Environment
  • Manage and Support Cisco UC system, and possibly other voice technologies, on an advanced to intermediate skill level.
  • Manage, support and install Cisco UC on UCS platform add-ons, and possibly other voice technologies, and enhancements as and when required.

  • It is the employees responsibility to Effectively Manage Unified Communication Solution for Hosted Customers
  • Ensuring that a professional, personalised message is recorded on their cell phone and landline
  • Ensuring that the message facility is activated when you are unavailable to take calls
  • Regularly checking for new messages
  • Timeously responding to all messages in order to ensure excellent customer service
  • Affectively manage and monitor Incident Management and constantly deliver on Customer SLA’s
