This position will manage regional quality engineering tasks concerning production of finished goods at :

  • suppliers
  • to ensure quality is driven into the products and manufacturing processes at every stage of product development and realization.

    This position requires a high level of daily interaction with external partners (supplier’s materials and 3PMs) and internal SCJ functions (Supply Planning, Procurement, Engineering, Operations ).

    The role is supported by the Global Quality team.

    The role will be covering SA and Sub-Saharan Africa.


  • Participating on product development teams to ensure quality is driven into the product and manufacturing process at early stages of product development.
  • Potential NPD, supplier / 3PM, new materials, machine acquisition, process change for SCJ in-house / 3PM introduction
  • Facilitate FMEA, and other hazard identification techniques
  • Product & Process validation support
  • Post launch support - reviewing production ramp up at 3PMs; identify methods and technologies to improve quality and productivity
  • Supporting regional projects to introduce new products or changes of existing ones,
  • Suppliers auditing and improvement practices
  • Supporting quality escalations for prompt and effective resolution.
  • Supporting with incident management if required
  • Position Requirements

  • Chemical Engineer degree or equivalent - BS in Chemical Engineering, Industrial engineering, Chemistry or equivalent Technical educational background.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Quality Engineering, specifically 3PMs quality management and / or product validation support represents competitive advantage.
  • FMCG / Chemical industry / Plastics experience
  • Suppliers auditing experience
  • Knowledge of basic technologies and equipment used in household products.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Mobility
  • You need to be legally eligible to work in the country of application.
