To analyse economic and product trends and make recommendations to improve the performance of an allocated product portfolio for PBB SA.
To provide the relevant MIS and economics reporting for the development, implementation and management of an allocated product portfolio in line with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities Problem solving
Provides daily maintenance to existing models when models malfunction, jobholder must conduct root cause analysis and recommend remediation.
There are multiple models each with different inputs and parameters.
Jobholder needs to collate and analyse large amounts of data and information in order to identify relevant product economics trends and recommend appropriate courses of action.
This includes customer, financial, risk and behavioural information.
Provides input into campaign briefs - input must integrate behavioural economics and marketing best practices to determine best approach to target customers - jobholder must adhere to governance requirements when using customer data the amount of data available is significant and there is a high possibility of contravening privacy laws when using multiple data sources to derive product economic insights that could be used as input for campaigns.
Inconsistent information provided by third parties can affect accuracy of reporting jobholder needs to detect this timeously to avoid incorrect downstream reporting.
Jobholder needs to extract portfolio information from external sources (e.g. Credit Bureau, Deeds office, XDS for client statement information etc) and overlay this with internal portfolio information to identify further cross-selling opportunities.
Discretion allowed for decision making
Jobholder can determine when model input must be updated (e.g. liquidity rates) if updates are made too frequently, consistency in model outputs will not be achieved.
Determines which techniques to use when analysing large data sets (e.g. trend analysis, hypothesis testing etc).
Decides which data sources are most suitable when conducting analysis.
Decides on the depth of information to provide when preparing relevant MIS and economics reporting.
Determines analysis and reporting requirements for the allocated product portfolio.
Sources appropriate data and MIS for the allocated product portfolio and transforms it into usable format (where required).
This includes portfolio information from multiple data sources
Analyses all information related to product and economic trends in relation to expected performance and prepares appropriate reporting (bespoke and standard) with recommendations based on user requirements.
Applies leading and lagging measures to form a view of portfolio performance and identify potential gaps.
Monitors pricing trends in order to provide input into the development of minimum and recommended pricing.
Analyses and reports on all product utilisation and provides recommendations for product improvements.
Confirms that appropriate business rules and processes are in place to handle specific events on the portfolio (e.g. large payments / withdrawals to or from accounts, which may require specific rules or actions).
Identifies opportunities to improve the profitability of the existing customer base without negatively impacting customers (e.
g. amending interest rate calculations or repayments to improve cash flow).
Identifies opportunities for cross-selling / acquiring and passes leads onto Client Management teams and Customer Insights and Analytics (e.
g. opportunities for non-franchise customers to use additional products) based on current product economic indicators at client level.
Prepares monthly and quarterly portfolio reporting packs as per user requirements, and as input into further detailed analysis by the broader team (e.
g. for financial modelling).
Identifies opportunities to automate the standard reports and liaises with relevant stakeholders to drive automation.
Presents reports at relevant committees when required in order to explain in-depth analysis results etc. (e.g. Risk and Compliance Committees, NABPPS etc.
with guidance from line manager.
Tracks overall product performance and provides guidance on tactical implementation of initiatives to the Client Management teams to improve product performance.
Provides input into identifying the most appropriate value stream components, features and processes that need to be digitised informed by the :

Credit, Risk and Governance
Test and correct methods (Fail Fast)
Prepare report with recommendations on prototype findings
Provides input into the continual modernisation of platforms in line with what matters to customers and according to all revenue points that we need optimised.
Tracks actual revenue and costs for specific initiatives (e.g. clean up of service fee recoveries).
Provides input on request into the product target setting (budgeting), at all iterations (i.e. RE’s, Shape, budget, etc.).
Implements and maintains the performance dashboard for allocated portfolio by obtaining inputs from PBB Finance and Customer Insights and Analytics.
Preferred Qualification and Experience
Degree in Maths or Science
7 10 years’ experience in in the design and development of customer value propositions
Knowledge / Technical Skills / Expertise
