  • Understand the TUHF business and business requirements and how these relate to the business systems on an ongoing basis.
  • This must be informed by constant engagement with the various departments and their users

  • Develop systems specifications for enhancements and amendments by evaluating business needs, identifying solutions, drafting specifications to address business needs and checking for business alignment as required
  • Develop recommendations on new systems requests and requirements by evaluating the systems, identifying risks and opportunities, developing recommendations that guide the selection and implementation process and participating in the decision-making process as required
  • Evaluate new systems or development enhancements for compatibility with existing systems, systems performance and impact by evaluating the system interaction, identifying potential challenges and addressing these as and when required
  • Tracking systems performance and managing that the systems perform at the required speed and efficiency prior and post implementation
  • To provide support in the development and maintenance of the organisational systems architecture by notifying the systems architect of pending changes to the landscapes, addressing queries and providing advice based on understanding and knowledge of the use of systems in the business as required
  • Procure development services by engaging with approved service providers, presenting specifications to providers, evaluating proposals and making procurement recommendations
  • Prepare and present motivations for development costs by understanding the required development, evaluating the preferred providers and their proposals, drafting a written motivation to motivate preferred providers and presenting these as required
  • Coordinate contracting of service providers appointed for development by drafting required agreements, including project contracts and deliverables, gaining required approval and managing that the contract is signed prior to initiating projects
  • Test all enhancements by checking development aligns with the specifications, conducting tests of the development, implementing a range of scenarios to challenge the development and preparing final product for user testing within project timeline
  • Coordinate user testing of enhancements by identifying appropriate testers, developing test scripts, providing testing supports, training on the new developments, tracking and managing the test results and coordinating signoff of development prior to go-live implementation
  • Manage implementation or development by developing training materials, training all impacted employees, developing a feedback process to address challenges and tracking and monitoring any issues in the go live as defined in the project plan
  • Develop and improve business processes by engaging business owners and understanding business operations, proposing business process improvements and mapping business processes as required
