active employee relations initiatives. sefa requires a self-starter with a strong Industrial Relations background, that will primarily be responsible for advicing and facilitating harmonious employee relations within sefa.
The successful individual will guide line managers to execute and implement effective labour relations practices. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS The Senior Employee Relations Specialist will primarily be responsible for the following Key Performance Areas : -
Align the Employee Relations Strategy with and benchmark with relevant employee relations policies, procedures and practices.
Facilitate general Human Capital business partnering interventions with respective Divisions. - Facilitate effective implementation of employee relations practices and policies.
Investigates and resolves moderate to complex complaints pertaining to employee relations, issues and concerns regarding employment practices originating from various sources.
Manage and resolve internal conflict by mediating in internal disputes , disputes with organised labour and grievances within the broader sefa.
Manage and facilitate, litigation and arbitration and disciplinary hearings. - Represent sefa at CCMA and any other relevant bodies in disputes by preparing the case, witnesses and documentation, leading evidence, cross examining witnesses and making relevant arguments as required.
Develop and maintain employee relations by developing and maintaining relationships with organised labour. - Convening regular meetings with Organised Labour and providing feedback to Executive Management.
Monitor performance results and regularly update management on key interventions. - Research best practices on employee relations practices.
Draft opinions and analytical documents on key labour relations issues. - Remain abreast of all legislative changes in respect of Employment Equity, Skills Development, Labour Relations, Tax, Pensions, Basic Conditions of Employment, Occupational Health and Safety etc.
Remain abreast of development in Employee Relations and corporate governance and ensure the committees adhere to the highest corporate standards (i.
e. King III). EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : - A Degree in Labour Relations or equivalent (NQF Level 7) - Minimum of 7 years' experience in the Employee Relations combined with generalist Human Capital experience -
Experience in litigation and collective bargaining is required CRITICAL COMPETENCIES : - Knowledge of all applicable Labour Law legislation -
Relationship management - Verbal and written communication - Principles, practices and procedures of human resources practices associated with employment law policies and practices.
