In line with Maison’s long-term strategy, the Cartier Country Manager is responsible for sales and distribution of the brand in South Africa and surrounding countries.
The Country Manager is also responsible for proposing and implementing a coherent strategy for the region and ensures that retail, specialists, marketing, communication, operations and team management are at the level required to grow the brand presence in this region.
The Country Manager acts as an ambassador of the Maison Cartier at all times.
Network local strategy
Implement and manage retail strategy for the region, in line with international guidelines
Manage retail growth (organic and possible new sites)
Initiate action plans de develop local and international clientele
Watch Specialists & Fragrance
Implement and manage watch strategy for the region in line with international guidelines
Develop wholesale growth and business development in the region
Ensure all partners are performing, coherently with brand and group policies, procedures and incoterms
Work closely with and manage the Commercial Manager to develop the specialist business locally and in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Marketing and Communication Strategy
Establish local communication strategy in-line with international guidelines
Monitor efficacy of communication activities
Manage the Communications Manager
Budget and Operations
Responsible for P&L in the region
Manage the budget processes (BU, LE) using the support of local Richemont Shared Services
Manage the reporting processes
Manage sales and profitability targets
Manage Cartier Southern Africa team (Retail Operations Manager and team, Boutique Manager and team, Commercial Manager, Communications Manager) entailing task delegation, coaching, development and evaluation
Geographical area under responsibility South Africa and surrounding area (Angola, Mauritus, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Botswana, Namibia)
Strong experience in Sales and Marketing (in luxury a plus)
Strong leadership, experience in managing a brand and a team
Retail operations experience
Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills
Fluent in English
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s / Master’s degree from a reputable university
Solid experience (10 years+) in a similar or related role
Experience using MS Office pack
