The purpose of this role is to maintain and support Mainframe and OpenSystems backup environment using the necessary backup utilities such as TSM, Dataprotector and Archserv and overall Storage Management of Mainframe Open Systems SAN and Nas Storage.

The role has customer engagement. Customers engage via Incident ticket, service request tools, email, instant messaging and telephone.
Resolution of incidents and requests
Create operational support documentation
Perform scheduled housekeeping activities
Event monitoring and reporting of incidents
Track and report service metrics as defined
Displays a sense of urgency around critical issues and presents the correct impact review in terms of business value and impact during technical and non-technical reviews and understands when to escalate issues.
Key Abilities Required
Provides effective production support including accurate problem identification, ticket documentation and customer / vendor dialogue.
Reports and escalate on problems and provides potential ways to mitigate the risk.
Understand the business value and impact of technical and non-technical information with ease.
Identifies when issues need to escalated for assistance.
Responsible for accurate problem identification and resolution of P1 / 2 / 3 and S1 / 2 / 3 incidents.
Manage appropriate tools and processes as laid down by organizational and operational guidelines within support function.
5+ years IT working experience
Good Problem Solving skills
Create and manage documentation (SOPs and Design Diagrams)
Advanced knowledge of latest Windows Server Operating Systems
Reporting skills MS Excel and MS Word
Good communication skills (verbal and written).
Understanding of Virtualisation Technologies
Understanding of Storage Arrays and Storage Principles
Working knowledge and certification of Microsoft Operating Systems
Understanding of VMware client, HBAs, SAN
ITIL V3 Foundations Certification
Working knowledge of Remote Administration
Working knowledge of TCP / IP
Working Knowledge in vSphere CLI scripts
Working Knowledge in PowerShell
Working Knowledge and Certification of VMware ESX 5.1 and 4.1 Servers.
Working Knowledge and Certification of Hyper-V and System centre
Working knowledge and Certifications of EMC , HP and IBM Storage Arrays

Information Systems Degree.
Storage Management and SAN / NAS training.
