Job Description This post will provide support and assistance to the Project Officer in all activities related AVM / ICM and Special Projects within the Landscape, as well as any additional conservation tasks as required from time to time.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES : PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION AVM & ICM Conduct Verification of Alien Densities for input into IAP mapping process Conduct Infield quality inspections for all projects Participate in the annual IWP / IAPO process Give input to site specifications Provide practical infield advice to contractors Conduct infield contractor team, vehicle and equipment inspections CONSERVATION & INTEGRATED CATCHMENT MANAGEMENT Conduct patrols and complete patrol reports In field data collection and reporting Assist with Eco-Matrix and Integrated Work Plan (IWP) tasks as assigned Assist with fire fighting and rescue operations Perform standby duties Mapping and Reporting fires and projects HUMAN RESOURCES AND OHS Compliance with OHS best practise OHS inspections and meetings with contractors and reserve staff Assist with contractor capacity building and Awareness Raising Completion of registers and forms as per HR protocols MAINTENANCE, ASSETS and STORES Conduct and monthly Inspections (Buildings, Assets, Equipment and Vehicles) Carry out minor repairs and Maintenance Stock checks and herbicide issue Ensure all project facilities, vehicles and equipment is clean, good working condition and ready for use ADMINISTRATION Assist Project Officer with quality and timeous compilation of documents required for contracts, SLA, Phase 1, Phase 2 and invoice packs Ensure all reports are timeously prepared and submitted according to standard Assist Project Officer with record keeping and management.

Assist Project Officer with data capture for tracking tools MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : Grade 12 At least two year’s relevant experience in a conservation field A valid Code-B driver’s licence Willingness to work irregular hours, after hours and perform standby duties Physical ability to perform Quality Controller & Fire Fighting duties No criminal record Computer literacy (MS Office suite Word, Excel, Powerpoint) Skills in basic mapping and orientation Bilingualism in at least two of the official languages in the Western Cape NRG 2 qualification would be advantageous Firefighting experience would be advantageous Report writing skills Competencies : Good project planning and organizing skills Good interpersonal skills and ability to operate well in a team.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects and tight deadlines Ability to function independently and within a team Obtain an appropriate PCO certificate qualification within two years after appointment Working knowledge of QGIS is advantageous Interested candidates can send their CV
