JOB SUMMARY :

Responsible for the delivery of best practice Human Resources policy, practice and solutions. Provides Human Resources consultation and coaching on a full range of HR functions including employee relations, recruitment & retention, succession planning, salary planning, performance management, conflict resolution, facilitating change and transition.

Develop people attraction strategy, and ensure development, and engagement programs are in place to enable sustainable business results.

As a member of the site leadership team, help drive the development and growth of the business per the site and functional goals.

The role requires an energetic and hands-on HR Business Partner who is skilled at working in a matrix environment, taking business priorities and aligning them with local, business area, and overall Roche HR strategies.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provide leadership to two direct reports and provide guidance / support on their projects
  • Proactively partner with site leadership to provide strategic HR leadership to managers and employees
  • Serves as an integrated part of the business, working with and advising the leaders of respective functions to align with and assist in accomplishing broader business objectives.
  • Ensures organizational success in complex business situations such as site expansion / move, exceptional business trajectories, and / or reorganizations.
  • As part of the RSS HR team, work in collaboration with the functional HRBPs with responsibility for functions on the site, ensuring seamless implementation of functional initiatives whilst ensuring the needs of the site are well understood and covered in functional solutions
  • As a member of the RSS and RMS HR teams, act as one Roche HR with the business, speaking up on key site topics to ensure they are understood early and collaborate and partner on solutions with HR colleagues.
  • Work on RMS level and / or functional HR initiatives as appropriate
  • Lead the implementation of HR programs and projects in accordance with company-wide HR policies, procedures and initiatives with localization based on local regulatory / customs.
  • Drive the employee engagement and wellness agenda through execution of various engagement and wellness activities
  • Monitors Employment Legislative initiatives, anticipates the effects of impending legislation on the organization, and develops action plans for timely compliance.
  • Provides training as needed.

  • Partners with the HR COEs and country HR to deliver customized programs and services to the business in the areas of organizational development, performance management, compensation, employee relations, training and staffing.
  • Leads local Input into resource planning and staff utilization
  • Report and present on HR data, trends and strategies.
  • Develops and conducts presentations to employees and managers on a variety of HR subjects.

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

    Formal Training / Education :

  • Bachelors degree preferably with an emphasis in Human Resource Management, Behavioral Science or Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Experience :

  • 10 + Years in Human Resources Management
  • 5+ years in a management role
  • Experience in a manufacturing / pharmaceutical environment preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Strong relationship skills. Able to gain a trusted advisor status in HR role to company leadership.
  • Must possess in-depth negotiating, influencing and consulting skills. Able to coach client group senior leaders and other key stakeholders on leadership skills
  • Comfortable leading, developing and mentoring members of the HR team and others
  • Self-starter and results oriented
  • Ability to partner with and influence site leadership team members on tactical and organizations challenges
  • Must be able to develop solutions to a wide range of highly complex problems, which require an in depth degree of curiosity, ingenuity, creativity, and innovation.
  • Strong matrix management skills. Able to manage relationships across businesses and functions.
  • Must be able to exercise judgment and independently determine and take appropriate action within defined HR policies and procedures.
  • Must possess conflict management and resolution skills.
  • While not necessarily the subject matter expert in each HR specialty area, must be able to discuss the fundamental issues of the HR functional areas (training, compensation, benefits, etc.) with management.
  • Work is performed with minimal direction. Exercises latitude in determining objectives and approaches.
  • Be comfortable advising and influencing senior management and have excellent and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, analytical and enjoys a challenge
  • Ability to handle situations professionally with sensitivity, diplomacy and tact
  • Role model for RMS Cultural Beliefs and Leadership Commitments
  • In-depth knowledge of BCEA, LRA, B-BBEE and EEA
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS office, including : Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in Workday is a plus
  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS :

    Travel Requirement : Approximately 20% of time travel domestic and / or international.
