A vacancy for a Raw Glass Co-ordinator has arisen at our Shatterprufe Struandale plant in Port Elizabeth. This is a Senior Staff position reporting to the Struandale Planning and Logistics Manager.

Main Job Purpose : Ordering of raw glass and ensuring its availability for production in line with customer demand so as to maximise the productivity of the Splitting / XYZ machine and product quality while minimising stock holding and wastage.

Responsible for the effective ordering of raw glass within target quantities as outlined in KPI's, thereby ensuring correct quantities are ordered so as to maximise productivity while minimising stock holding and wastage.

Responsible for the accurate recording of non-conformance due to supplier supplying incorrect materials and ensuring that corrective actions are in place for any non-

conformance so as ensure that in-plant cutting losses are kept to a minimum. Responsible for booking glass into In-Transit account from PFG in line with truck turnaround time so as to reduce financial loss for the business and to ensure the timeous availability of glass to the factory.

Issue raw glass in accordance to FIFO, set cutting plan and customer requirements by ensuring correct mix in Plant to minimise delays to production and to reduce waste.

Identification of non-moving product and used in cases of deviation from actual size so as to move stock and avoid redundancy of product and financial loss for the business.

Responsible for 5S projects to ensure continuous improvement and improve immediate workplace. Responsible for Safety in immediate area by ensuring 90% or higher is maintained on safety scores to minimize harm to people in the Plant.

Responsible for the Splitting / XYZ team, ensuring the operation achieves OEE, cycle times and any inefficiencies are addressed with root cause analysis including implementation of actions.

Drive continuous improvement culture with in teams. To effectively coach and mentor identified high potential candidates in order to improve skills, support succession plans for key critical and scarce positions, drive staff engagement and retention and ultimately increase profits through improved capability, performance and productivity.

Ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support decision making for the business.
