Gauteng based (hybrid working conditions but must be based in Johannesburg)

Our client, an award winning Agency with an excellent track record of staff retention, is looking for an effective NEW Business Development Executive to assist this dynamic company in its ambitious growth plans.

Interested candidates MUST have current or recent previous experience generating NEW sales and onboarding NEW clients within an agency environment- PR, Media, Advertising or Communications Agency .

Connections and knowledge of the industry is vital and must be demonstrated upon successful consideration.

Our client sells a SERVICE not a PRODUCT(FMCG) so candidates must have similar NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE offering a SERVICE within an agency.

They are looking for a HUNTER not a Farmer.

Specific requirements :

Min five years recent New Sales and New Business Development in a related creative agency industry

The roles and responsibilities of the position are as follows :

  • Sourcing new business
  • Generating and sustaining a new business pipeline both locally and in Africa
  • Networking with potential new clients
  • Locating and proposing potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and pursuing opportunities
  • Presenting the company at pitches and events
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with potential key contacts in the industry
  • Coming up with communications and marketing solutions and pitching them to clients (the candidate needs to be able to write exceptionally well and communicate well verbally)
  • Maintaining the company’s leads tracking system
  • Drawing up costings and budgets
  • Researching and remaining abreast of competitor developments
  • Assisting management in establishing and reviewing the sales targets
  • Liaising with all the internal teams at the company to understand their work and be able to sell the company’s services effectively
  • Growing the company’s reputation in the market
