Duties and responsibilities :

  • Lecture / teach within the biomechanical and relevant fields related to physical conditions.
  • Clinical supervision of students within the fields of biomechanical and relevant fields related to physical conditions.
  • Provide support to skills development within the fields of biomechanical and other fields related to physical conditions.
  • Assist in the coordination of service learning of students in various settings; including in community based settings.
  • Do research, publications and presentations of research
  • Provide supervision for undergraduate research projects.
  • Contribute to relevant development within the curriculum.
  • Perform general administration involved within the academic work environment.
  • Attend and contribute to relevant committees and meetings.
  • Inherent requirements : Junior Lecturer :

    Junior Lecturer :

  • Honours degree / Postgraduate Diploma / Professional Bachelor’s Degree on NQF level 8 in Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience within the fields of biomechanical and other fields related to physical conditions.
  • Registered with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • A good academic record.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Lecturer :

  • Master’s degree on NQF level 9 in Occupational Therapy.
  • Proven experience in the delivery of poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
  • Provide evidence of manuscripts produced that have the potential to be converted or submitted for publication, ideally in an accredited journal.
  • Registered with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • A good academic record.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Recommendations : Junior Lecturer :

    Junior Lecturer :

  • Master’s degree or willingness to enrol for a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of the appointment.
  • Membership with the Occupational Therapy Association of South Africa (OTASA).
  • Experience of supervising students during clinical training.
  • Lecturer :

  • Doctoral degree or willingness to enrol for a doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of the appointment.
  • Membership with the Occupational Therapy Association of South Africa (OTASA).
  • Experience of supervising students during clinical training.
  • Assumption of duties : 1 January 2020.
