The Sports Science Institute of South Africa (SSISA) is 23 years old and our mission is to optimise the sporting performance and health of all South Africans through the execution, dissemination and application of science.
We are looking for an Instructional Designer to research, structure, design, write, assist with delivery of and maintain a series of courses and qualifications in the sport and wellness field.
You will be part of a small and dynamic team created to roll out education products that are in line with the SSISA vision and strategy.

This position is offered as a full-day contract position for a period of one year.

Essential requirements :
Minimum 3 years’ experience in instructional design, content production and writing
A university degree in English, Linguistics, Creative Writing, Media Studies or similar
Experience in writing and proof-reading
Experience in or understanding of online learning and education
Computer literacy, including competence in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of course development software (e.g. Camtasia, Articulate or Captivate)
Chief responsibilities :
Design course materials in a variety of formats to ensure highly interactive learning solutions
Design and execute engaging learning courses in line with learning goals
Develop content outlines, storyboards and scripts for projects
Collaborate with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to ensure that content, learning objectives and delivery methods meet the project requirements
Work with Videographer and Graphic Designer to create multimedia education content
Write learning content and develop assessment instruments
Visualise instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
Manage the creation of supporting materials / media
Develop programmes and concepts based on sound learning design principles that meet the business objectives of the organization
Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
Conduct quality assurance on all learning interventions
Familiarity with Moodle
Presentation or lecturing skills
