The purpose of this role will be to maximize the sales of the Company’s range of horticultural products by door, ensuring that the products are effectively displayed and customers are assisted in a helpful and friendly manner, offering expert horticultural advice as and when required.
Assume overall responsibility of product quality in the outdoor area appointed to :

Ensures that customers are attended to promptly and professionally, are assisted in a helpful and friendly manner, and that they have access to any advice or information they may require at all times.
Upsell and cross-sell to customers and inform them about promotions and seasonal stock in order to maximise sales.
Regularly submits promotional ideas and continuously give input to management with regards to product promotions and customer feedback.
Partake in promotions that require horticultural expertise, lectures to staff and clients as / if required.
Identify problems such as diseases, weeds and insect pests in the outdoor area as well upon customer request.
Ensure that all plants are correctly priced, labelled with botanical names and descriptions.
Ensure that products on display are neatly and attractively arranged and not shop-soiled.
Ensure that all plants for sale are regularly fed, watered, pruned and staked when necessary and are maintained in the highest quality.
Advise nursery supervisor of application of fertilizers / insecticides / herbicides in the outdoor area as and when required.
Horticulture or related diploma or degree or minimum two years relevant retail nursery sales experience
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
